Sakuu Promotes Arwed Niestroj to the Position of President and Chief Operating Officer
In a significant move for the battery industry, Sakuu has announced the appointment of Arwed Niestroj as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Niestroj, who has a background in technical and nuclear physics, most recently served as the Chief Product Officer at Sakuu.
Niestroj, who has held multiple leadership positions within Sakuu since joining the company six years ago, expressed his excitement about taking the operational helm at Sakuu during its growth phase. His previous roles at Sakuu include General Manager of the battery business unit, Senior Vice President of e-Mobility and Product, and Chief Product Officer.
The appointment comes as Sakuu unveils its groundbreaking Sakuu Kavian Manufacturing Platform. This platform eliminates the use of toxic solvents and water, reducing the manufacturing footprint by 60%. It also saves 56% in utility operating costs, reduces CO2 emissions by 55%, and reduces capital equipment costs by 20%.
The Sakuu Kavian Manufacturing Platform addresses key challenges in scalability, sustainability, safety, and performance. Its dry process production meets or exceeds standard performance and quality while offering benefits in sustainability, cost-savings, and efficiency.
The platform's dry process production is not limited to traditional battery electrodes. It can also dry print supercapacitor electrodes to meet the unique power needs of AI data centers. The Sakuu Kavian Manufacturing Platform is the world's first additive manufacturing solution to dry-print battery electrodes.
The Sakuu Kavian Manufacturing Platform has already proven its capabilities, with Sakuu having delivered hundreds of meters of high-quality dry electrodes to customers. The platform can dry print electrodes in various chemistries, including NCM, NCA, LFP, graphite, silicon-graphite, aluminum-ion, and sodium-ion.
Robert Bagheri, Sakuu's founder and CEO, has been elevated to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
